Abbreviated CV

B.S. in Chemical Engineering (University of Zulia, 2005) awarded summa cum laude and in Architecture (Rafael Urdaneta University, 2014) being in the Honor Roll and ranking the first place by academic record among the graduates from both universities, M.S. in Chemical Process Engineering and Sustainable Development (UPV/EHU, 2009) and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering by the UPV/EHU (2019).

My career is being built from industry to academy. In 2004, I started as an undergraduate student researcher at the Institute of Surfaces and Catalysis (University of Zulia), with focal point on heterogeneous catalysis. In 2005-2008, I worked as a Process Engineer in the Venezuelan petrochemical industry (Pralca and Polinter), being mainly involved in projects for new plants and plant expansion. In 2008-2009, I was awarded a Fundación Carolina grant for postgraduate studies. From 2010 to 2014, I studied Architecture and, simultaneously, I worked as a lecturer at Santiago Mariño Polytechnic Institute teaching several subjects in the Chemical Engineering program (Material and Energy Balance, Unit Operations, Chemical Reaction Engineering, Plant Design). I resumed the research labor at the UPV/EHU as a doctoral student researcher (2015-2019) and postdoctoral researcher (2020-present), with a research visiting to the University of California, Davis (2018).

My research focuses on studying factors that affect the catalyst activity and deactivation in various catalytic processes by using different characterization techniques. I currently author 16 publications (15 indexed in the JCR, h-index = 5) and various congress contributions.
