My professional activity has been developed at the UPV/EHU, teaching undergraduate and master’s degree in Chemical Engineering. My research lines are mainly related to catalytic cracking and hydrocracking of typical refinery streams (heavy gasoils), wastes as waste polymers, liquids from tyre pyrolysis, waxes from waste polymer pyrolysis, etc. Associate Professor in 1984 and Full Professor since 1993. I completed two postdoctoral stays in the Chemical Reactor Engineering Center of the University of Western Ontario, London, Canada, with grants from Spanish Ministery of Education and Science and the Basque Government, respectively. Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering for three terms and responsible for the Doctoral Program of Chemical Engineering for 6 biennia. Coordinator of the Official Master in Engineering of Chemical Processes and Sustainable Development the first year of its teaching. Author of more than 160 papers indexed in the Journal of Citation Report, I have been the main researcher/collaborator in more than 40 competitive research projects and research contracts, and I have supervised 15 PhD theses. Secretary of Field No. 2 (Chemistry) and member of Field No. 6 (Engineering and Architecture) of the CNEAI, as well as holder of the accreditation commission for access to the corps of University Professors by the branch of Engineering and Architecture (ANECA).
