Abbreviated CV
I obtained the degree of Chemical Engineer in 2010 and the PhD in Chemical Engineering in 2015, both at the University of the Basque Country. My doctoral thesis entitled "Valorization of agro-forestry wastes and sewage sludge by fast pyrolysis in a conical spouted bed reactor" won the Extraordinary Doctorate Award in the engineering and technology field. In addition, in 2011 I finished the Master of Engineering of Chemical Processes and Sustainable Development at the UPV / EHU, obtaining the recognition as the best student of the promotion. In September 2018 I obtained a position as Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering of Vitoria-Gasteiz.
My research activity is developed within the group of Catalytic Processes and Waste Valorization (PROCAT-VARES) of the UPV/EHU. The main research areas on which I am focused are: i) Biomass pyrolysis, through the study of different materials and operation strategies; ii) Thermal pyrolysis of sewage sludge in order to improve the management of this dangerous waste; iii) Production of hydrogen and syngas by plastics and biomass gasification and pyrolysis followed by in-line reforming. Up to now, I have participated in 15 competitive research projects, I have co-authored 2 book chapters and I have published 37 articles in international journals indexed in the JCR database which have received 2400 citations, having reached an index h of 18.
In 2013 I carried out a stay of 3 months at the Energy Research Institute (University of Leeds), led by the Professor Paul T. Williams, who is a world leader in the field of pyrolysis and gasification.
