La UPV/EHU ha creado el servicio de almacenamiento EHUbox. Para describir rápidamente este servicio podemos decir que es similar al conocido Dropbox con la diferencia fundamental de que los datos son guardados en servidores propios de la UPV/EHU, por lo que cumple con mayores requerimientos de seguridad y privacidad de la LOPD al no enviarse los datos a servidores externos.
Características y funcionalidades
El servicio que ha puesto en marcha la Vicegerencia de las TICs tiene las siguientes características principales:
- No hay que solicitarlo. El personal de la UPV/EHU lo tiene asignado y basta con conectarse a la página web http://ehubox.ehu.es para acceder al almacenamiento personal.
- Se ha asignado una cuota personal de 50 GB.
- Métodos de acceso al almacenamiento.
- Con un navegador a través de la url anterior y trabajando desde la web.
- También se puede acceder desde móviles mediante apps tanto para Android como para Iphone. La app oficial de Owncloud tiene un coste de 0.73 € mientras que la de oCloud es gratuíta. También son gratuítas las que encontramos en F-Droid. Conectarse a la dirección ehubox.ehu.es desde la app para acceder.
- Se puede instalar el cliente para PC (Windows, Linux o Mac) y se accede a al servicio como si fuese una carpeta normal (descarga de clientes). Conectarse a la dirección ehubox.ehu.es en el cliente apara acceder.
- Mediante el protocolo webdav, para entenderlo mejor podemos decir que es similar al protocolo ftp. Por ejemplo desde un navegador de archivos con la siguiente ruta o conexión a servidor davs://ehubox.ehu.eus/owncloud/remote.php/webdav.
- La aplicación permite compartir archivos fácilmente. Para ello hay dos mecanismos.
- Con otro personal de la UPV/EHU mediante su usuario de LDAP para compartir una carpeta o fichero internamente. Una vez compartida la carpeta aparece inmediatamente en el area de quien con hayamos compartido.
- La segunda opción es generando un enlace web aleatorio que permite compartir los ficheros o carpetas. Enviando este enlace a otra persona esta puede descargarse el fichero tanto desde dentro como desde fuera de la UPV/EHU.
- Los datos pueden compartirse con el exterior mediante enlace, pero estos están almacenados en discos en la propia UPV/EHU no en servidores externos a la UPV/EHU hasta que se descargan.
- Se pueden crear grupos de trabajo y compartir ficheros y carpetas con el grupo (solicitar la creación del grupo al CAU).
- Permite trabajo edición y trabajo colaborativo con documentos .odt, .docx y .doc.
- Papelera para recuperar archivos borrados en lo últimos 30 días.
- La infraestructura física que existe por debajo es la misma que la de EHUstorage, el sistema de almacenamiento masivo para personal de la UPV/EHU que ya describimos en este post. Por lo que es un sistema altamente seguro ante fallos del hardware.

El sistema está completamente operativo y es estable, pero aún continua en fase de pruebas.

Me comentan que el sistema está recién montado y quieren ver que tal funciona, que aceptación tiene,… entre el personal que es un grupo de usuarios más reducido, antes de plantearse extender el sistema a los alumnos, que sois un grupo muchísimo mayor.

Siguiendo las instrucciones he descargado el cliente para PC de ownCloud, e indicado en la “Dirección del servicio” ehubox.ehu.es que es reemplazada automáticamente por “https://ehubox.ehu.es”, y da el error:
“Fallo al conectar ownCloud a https://ehubox.ehu.eus/status.php:
Error downloading https://ehubox.ehu.eus/status.php – server replied: Bad Request”
Por cierto, estoy intentando acceder desde fuera de la UPV y estoy conectado via VPN empleando Cisco Anyconnect Secure Mobility Client.
A través de la web puedo acceder al servicio.
Desde un ordenador sito en la UPV da el mismo error

Acabo de instalarme un cliente y con la dirección ehubox.ehu.es no he tenido ningún problema. Prueba otra vez a ver si era un problema puntual del servidor. Si sigues teniendo problemas debes de contactar con el CAU para que te resuelvan el problema. Nosotros no somos los que damos el soporte de este servicio.

Como se indica en el post si vas a esta URL
http://ehubox.ehu.es
con el mismo usuario y password del correo electrónico de la UPV/EHU deberías de poder entrar. Lo acabo de probar y funciona.
Los clientes para escritorio y móvil podrían dejar de funcionar en algún momento, pues ahora la infraestructura está montada con NextCloud (https://nextcloud.com/) y habría que usar sus clientes y no los que se indica en el post.
Si sigues con problemas tendrás que contactar con el CAU de la UPV/EHU (cau@ehu.eus), son ellos los que podrán resolverte el problema.

yo además de usar EHUBOX uso GORDE para guardar mis clases. En casa usando UBUNTU monto mi EHUBOX usando WEBDAV y mi GORDE con SAMBA. ¿hay alguna manera de conectarme a mi GORDE usando WEBDAV? Hasta ahora no lo he conseguido…
Me interesa porque con WEBDAV no necesito estar conectado a la VPN, pero con SAMBA si, y es un poco peñazo.

Lo he sincronizado en escritorio de Windows y en Android puedo acceder con la propia app de Nextcloud. Pero, por operatividad, me gustaría integrarla en un explorador de archivos añadiendo el acceso vía webdav, pero me da error 405.
La prueba la he hecho con MiXplorer, añadiendo la conexión “davs://ehubox.ehu.eus/owncloud/remote.php/webdav” (la app recorta la URI a “davs://ehubox.ehu.eus” y añade este setting: “remote=/owncloud/remote.php/webdav”) y mi ldap.
Como este post tiene unos años, pregunto por si esta opción no está habilitada o ha cambiado alguna dirección o algo así.

La dirección que hay que dar no es la del post, sino esta:
“https://ehubox.ehu.eus/remote.php/dav/files/XXXX@ehu.eus/”
sustituyendo XXXX por lo que proceda en cada caso:
¿Cómo obtener esa dirección? En primer lugar tienes que estar viendo “Archivos”; no “Fotos” ni “Dashboard” ni “Actividad”. En la esquina inferior izquierda, casi escondido debajo de la barra indicadora del espacio ocupado, hay un “Ajustes”; pinchas ahí y aparece tu dirección WeDAV personalizada. NO es el “Ajustes” que aparece en la esquina superior derecha al pinchar sobre el perfil de usuario.
En la aplicación cliente de WebDAV, como “username” admite tanto el “XXXX@ehu.eus” como la forma abreviada.

Hola,
Hace ya algunos meses que estoy teniendo problemas al conectarme a EHUbox a través de los clientes owncloud y/o nextcloud desde máquinas Linux. Funcionan bien desde la propia UPV/EHU, pero si intentas conectarte desde fuera (casa) no lo permite, el error es “falló el handshake SSL”. Creo que la versión de SSL que está activa en el servidor EHUbox se está quedando antigua y no permite conexiones remotas externas. Desde Windows creo que aún funciona, y a través del navegador también, pero acceder a través del navegador es demasiado farragoso, al menos en comparación a hacerlo con el cliente.
Hoy, he actualizado el cliente owncloud (Linux) en el ordenador que está físicamente en la UPV/EHU y han pasado dos cosas:
1) No reconoce un certificado local, pero me ha permitido seguir
2) El cliente emite el mensaje “la versión del servidor no es compatible, sigue bajo tu responsabilidad”, o algo parecido.
¿Es posible actualizar el servidor EHUbox para que vayan desapareciendo estos problemas? En cualquier caso, es algo que tarde o temprano habrá que hacer; si no, poco a poco se irá cayendo todo.

A mí me ha funcionado con la versión 3.5.1 para Linux. Por fortuna, Nextcloud ofrece versiones antiguas:

Uso Linux Mint 21.2. La versión Nextcloud del repositorio (3.4) y la versión más actual de flatpak (3.9) no me funcionaban, dando el mismo error que ha descrito Juan en diciembre al tratar de conectarse al servidor ehubox.ehu.eus (se ve que persiste; tampoco funcionaba con ehubox.ehu.es, ni poniento https:// delante, ni nada de eso). No obstante, parece que con la versión vieja 3.5.1 el handshake es compatible. Lo digo por si a alguien le ayuda mientras alguien (¿?) actualiza el servidor. Hay que descargar la appimage, ponerle permiso de ejecutable como programa que es, ejecutarla y listo.
