Los hombres salieron tras ellos por el camino del Jordán, hasta los vados, y la puerta fue cerrada después que salieron los perseguidores.

Ces gens les poursuivirent par le chemin qui mène au gué du Jourdain, et l'on ferma la porte après qu'ils furent sortis.

Then the men pursued them by the road to the Jordan, to the fords. And as soon as those who pursued them had gone out, they shut the gate.

Now before they lay down, she came up to them on the roof,

-- Sé que Jehová os ha dado esta tierra, porque el temor de vosotros ha caído sobre nosotros, y todos los habitantes del país ya han temblado por vuestra causa.

et leur dit: L'Éternel, je le sais, vous a donné ce pays, la terreur que vous inspirez nous a saisis, et tous les habitants du pays tremblent devant vous.

and said to the men: "I know that the LORD has given you the land, that the terror of you has fallen on us, and that all the inhabitants of the land are fainthearted because of you.

Porque hemos oído que Jehová hizo secar las aguas del Mar Rojo delante de vosotros cuando salisteis de Egipto, y también lo que habéis hecho con los dos reyes de los amorreos que estaban al otro lado del Jordán, con Sehón y Og, a los cuales habéis destruido.

Car nous avons appris comment, à votre sortie d'Égypte, l'Éternel a mis à sec devant vous les eaux de la mer Rouge, et comment vous avez traité les deux rois des Amoréens au delà du Jourdain, Sihon et Og, que vous avez dévoués par interdit.

"For we have heard how the LORD dried up the water of the Red Sea for you when you came out of Egypt, and what you did to the two kings of the Amorites who [were] on the other side of the Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom you utterly destroyed.

"And as soon as we heard [these things,] our hearts melted; neither did there remain any more courage in anyone because of you, for the LORD your God, He [is] God in heaven above and on earth beneath.

Os ruego pues, ahora, que me juréis por Jehová, que como he tenido misericordia de vosotros, así la tendréis vosotros de la casa de mi padre, de lo cual me daréis una señal segura;

Et maintenant, je vous prie, jurez -moi par l'Éternel que vous aurez pour la maison de mon père la même bonté que j'ai eue pour vous. Donnez-moi l'assurance

"Now therefore, I beg you, swear to me by the LORD, since I have shown you kindness, that you also will show kindness to my father's house, and give me a true token,

"and spare my father, my mother, my brothers, my sisters, and all that they have, and deliver our lives from death."

Ellos le respondieron: -- Nuestra vida responderá por la vuestra, si no denuncias este asunto nuestro; y cuando Jehová nos haya dado la tierra, te trataremos con bondad y lealtad.

Ces hommes lui répondirent: Nous sommes prêts à mourir pour vous, si vous ne divulguez pas ce qui nous concerne; et quand l'Éternel nous donnera le pays, nous agirons envers toi avec bonté et fidélité.

So the men answered her, "Our lives for yours, if none of you tell this business of ours. And it shall be, when the LORD has given us the land, that we will deal kindly and truly with you."

Entonces ella los hizo descender con una cuerda por la ventana, pues su casa estaba en el muro de la ciudad y ella vivía en el muro.

Elle les fit descendre avec une corde par la fenêtre, car la maison qu'elle habitait était sur la muraille de la ville.

Then she let them down by a rope through the window, for her house [was] on the city wall; she dwelt on the wall.

Eta erran zioeten: Mendietara igan zaizte, beldurrez-eta buruz-buru egin detzatzueten gibelerakoan zuen bilhariak; eta han gorde zaizte hirur egunez, gibelerat itzul ditezen arteo, eta hola goanen zarete zuen bidean.

Les dijo: -- Marchaos al monte, para que los que fueron tras vosotros no os encuentren. Estad escondidos allí tres días, hasta que vuelvan los que os siguen; después os iréis por vuestro camino.

Elle leur dit: Allez du côté de la montagne, de peur que ceux qui vous poursuivent ne vous rencontrent; cachez -vous là pendant trois jours, jusqu'à ce qu'ils soient de retour; après cela, vous suivrez votre chemin.

And she said to them, "Get to the mountain, lest the pursuers meet you. Hide there three days, until the pursuers have returned. Afterward you may go your way."

Ellos le dijeron: -- Nosotros quedaremos libres de este juramento que te hemos hecho.

Ces hommes lui dirent: Voici de quelle manière nous serons quittes du serment que tu nous as fait faire.

So the men said to her: "We [will be] blameless of this oath of yours which you have made us swear,

Cuando nosotros entremos en la tierra, tú atarás este cordón de grana a la ventana por la cual nos descolgaste, y reunirás en tu casa a tu padre y a tu madre, a tus hermanos y a toda la familia de tu padre.

À notre entrée dans le pays, attache ce cordon de fil cramoisi à la fenêtre par laquelle tu nous fais descendre, et recueille auprès de toi dans la maison ton père, ta mère, tes frères, et toute la famille de ton père.

"unless, [when] we come into the land, you bind this line of scarlet cord in the window through which you let us down, and unless you bring your father, your mother, your brothers, and all your father's household to your own home.

Zure etxeko athetik ilkhiko denak izanen du bere odola bere buruaren gain, eta gu izanen gare garbi. Bainan etxean zurekin izanen diren guzien odola eroriko da gure buruaren gain, baldin norbaitek hekiek ukitzen baditu.

Cualquiera que salga fuera de las puertas de tu casa, su sangre caerá sobre su cabeza y nosotros seremos sin culpa. Pero cualquiera que esté en la casa contigo, su sangre caerá sobre nuestra cabeza, si alguna mano lo toca.

Si quelqu'un d'eux sort de la porte de ta maison pour aller dehors, son sang retombera sur sa tête, et nous en serons innocents; mais si on met la main sur l'un quelconque de ceux qui seront avec toi dans la maison, son sang retombera sur notre tête.

"So it shall be [that] whoever goes outside the doors of your house into the street, his blood [shall be] on his own head, and we [will be] guiltless. And whoever is with you in the house, his blood [shall be] on our head if a hand is laid on him.

"And if you tell this business of ours, then we will be free from your oath which you made us swear."

-- Sea así como habéis dicho -- respondió ella. Luego los despidió; ellos se fueron y ella ató el cordón de grana a la ventana.

Elle répondit: Qu'il en soit selon vos paroles. Elle prit ainsi congé d'eux, et ils s'en allèrent. Et elle attacha le cordon de cramoisi à la fenêtre.

Then she said, "According to your words, so [be] it." And she sent them away, and they departed. And she bound the scarlet cord in the window.

Hekiek, berriz, bideari lothurik, mendietara heldu izan ziren, eta han egotu ziren hirur egunez, hekien ondotik goan zirenak bihurtu arteo: ezen bide guzian bilhaturik, etzituzten nihon atzeman.

Marcharon ellos, llegaron al monte y se quedaron allí tres días, hasta que volvieron los que los perseguían, quienes los habían buscado por todo el camino, sin hallarlos.

Ils partirent, et arrivèrent à la montagne, où ils restèrent trois jours, jusqu'à ce que ceux qui les poursuivaient fussent de retour. Ceux qui les poursuivaient les cherchèrent par tout le chemin, mais ils ne les trouvèrent pas.

They departed and went to the mountain, and stayed there three days until the pursuers returned. The pursuers sought [them] all along the way, but did not find [them.]

Les deux hommes s'en retournèrent, descendirent de la montagne, et passèrent le Jourdain. Ils vinrent auprès de Josué, fils de Nun, et lui racontèrent tout ce qui leur était arrivé.

So the two men returned, descended from the mountain, and crossed over; and they came to Joshua the son of Nun, and told him all that had befallen them.

And they said to Joshua, "Truly the LORD has delivered all the land into our hands, for indeed all the inhabitants of the country are fainthearted because of us."

Then Joshua rose early in the morning; and they set out from Acacia Grove and came to the Jordan, he and all the children of Israel, and lodged there before they crossed over.

So it was, after three days, that the officers went through the camp;

et donnèrent cet ordre au peuple: Lorsque vous verrez l'arche de l'alliance de l'Éternel, votre Dieu, portée par les sacrificateurs, les Lévites, vous partirez du lieu où vous êtes, et vous vous mettrez en marche après elle.

and they commanded the people, saying, "When you see the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, and the priests, the Levites, bearing it, then you shall set out from your place and go after it.

Eta arkharen eta zuen artean izan bedi bi mila besoren hutsa, urrunera ikhus ahal dezazuentzat, eta jakin dezazuen zer bidez goan behar zareten, zeren aitzinean ez baitzaizte hartan gaindi ibili: eta berautzue arkhari hurbiltzetik.

a fin de que sepáis el camino por donde habéis de ir, por cuanto vosotros no habéis pasado nunca antes por este camino. Pero que haya entre vosotros y el Arca una distancia como de dos mil codos; no os acercaréis a ella".

Mais il y aura entre vous et elle une distance d'environ deux mille coudées: n'en approchez pas. Elle vous montrera le chemin que vous devez suivre, car vous n'avez point encore passé par ce chemin.

"Yet there shall be a space between you and it, about two thousand cubits by measure. Do not come near it, that you may know the way by which you must go, for you have not passed [this] way before."

Eta Josuek erran zioen populuari: Saindu zaitezte, ezen bihar Jaunak zuen artean miresteko direnak eginen ditu.

Josué dijo al pueblo: "Santificaos, porque Jehová hará mañana maravillas entre vosotros".

Josué dit au peuple: Sanctifiez -vous, car demain l'Éternel fera des prodiges au milieu de vous.

And Joshua said to the people, "Sanctify yourselves, for tomorrow the LORD will do wonders among you."

Eta aphezei erran zioeten: Har zazue batasuneko arkha eta zoazte populuaren aitzinean. Haukiek manua bethez, arkha hartu zuten eta goan ziren guzien aitzinean.

Et Josué dit aux sacrificateurs: Portez l'arche de l'alliance, et passez devant le peuple. Ils portèrent l'arche de l'alliance, et ils marchèrent devant le peuple.

Then Joshua spoke to the priests, saying, "Take up the ark of the covenant and cross over before the people." So they took up the ark of the covenant and went before the people.

And the LORD said to Joshua, "This day I will begin to exalt you in the sight of all Israel, that they may know that, as I was with Moses, [so] I will be with you.

Zuk ordean manu emozute batasuneko arkha daramaten aphezei eta errozute: Jordaneko uraren erdira sarthu zaretekeenean, geldi zaizte han.

Tú, pues, mandarás esto a los sacerdotes que llevan el Arca del pacto: "Cuando hayáis llegado a la orilla del agua del Jordán, os detendréis en el Jordán"".

Tu donneras cet ordre aux sacrificateurs qui portent l'arche de l'alliance: Lorsque vous arriverez au bord des eaux du Jourdain, vous vous arrêterez dans le Jourdain.

"You shall command the priests who bear the ark of the covenant, saying, 'When you have come to the edge of the water of the Jordan, you shall stand in the Jordan.' "

Eta Josuek erran zioeten Israelgo semeei: Hurbil zaizte hunat, eta adi zazue zuen Jainko Jaunaren hitza.

Josué dijo a los hijos de Israel: "Acercaos y escuchad las palabras de Jehová, vuestro Dios".

So Joshua said to the children of Israel, "Come here, and hear the words of the LORD your God."

Josué dit: À ceci vous reconnaîtrez que le Dieu vivant est au milieu de vous, et qu'il chassera devant vous les Cananéens, les Héthiens, les Héviens, les Phéréziens, les Guirgasiens, les Amoréens et les Jébusiens:

And Joshua said, "By this you shall know that the living God [is] among you, and [that] He will without fail drive out from before you the Canaanites and the Hittites and the Hivites and the Perizzites and the Girgashites and the Amorites and the Jebusites:

Horra non lur guziko Jaunaren batasuneko arkha zuen aitzinean goanen den Jordanea barna.

El Arca del pacto del Señor de toda la tierra pasará delante de vosotros en medio del Jordán.

voici, l'arche de l'alliance du Seigneur de toute la terre va passer devant vous dans le Jourdain.

"Behold, the ark of the covenant of the Lord of all the earth is crossing over before you into the Jordan.

Berezirik iduk zatzue hamabi gizon Israelgo leinuetarik, leinu bakhoxka bat.

Tomad, pues, ahora doce hombres de las tribus de Israel, uno de cada tribu.

Maintenant, prenez douze hommes parmi les tribus d'Israël, un homme de chaque tribu.

"Now therefore, take for yourselves twelve men from the tribes of Israel, one man from every tribe.

Eta lur guziko Jainko Jaunaren arkha daramaten aphezek zangoak ezarri dituzketenean Jordaneko uretan, beherago diren urak aitzinat eginen dute eta agorra eginen dute: bainan gaineko aldetik heldu direnak, meta batean geldituko dira.

Y cuando las plantas de los pies de los sacerdotes que llevan el Arca de Jehová, Señor de toda la tierra, se mojen en las aguas del Jordán, las aguas del Jordán se dividirán, porque las aguas que vienen de arriba se detendrán formando un muro".

Et dès que les sacrificateurs qui portent l'arche de l'Éternel, le Seigneur de toute la terre, poseront la plante des pieds dans les eaux du Jourdain, les eaux du Jourdain seront coupées, les eaux qui descendent d'en haut, et elles s'arrêteront en un monceau.

"And it shall come to pass, as soon as the soles of the feet of the priests who bear the ark of the LORD, the Lord of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of the Jordan, [that] the waters of the Jordan shall be cut off, the waters that come down from upstream, and they shall stand as a heap."

So it was, when the people set out from their camp to cross over the Jordan, with the priests bearing the ark of the covenant before the people,

and as those who bore the ark came to the Jordan, and the feet of the priests who bore the ark dipped in the edge of the water (for the Jordan overflows all its banks during the whole time of harvest),

that the waters which came down from upstream stood [still, and] rose in a heap very far away at Adam, the city that [is] beside Zaretan. So the waters that went down into the Sea of the Arabah, the Salt Sea, failed, [and] were cut off; and the people crossed over opposite Jericho.

Les sacrificateurs qui portaient l'arche de l'alliance de l'Éternel s'arrêtèrent de pied ferme sur le sec, au milieu du Jourdain, pendant que tout Israël passait à sec, jusqu'à ce que toute la nation eût achevé de passer le Jourdain.

Then the priests who bore the ark of the covenant of the LORD stood firm on dry ground in the midst of the Jordan; and all Israel crossed over on dry ground, until all the people had crossed completely over the Jordan.

Lorsque toute la nation eut achevé de passer le Jourdain, l'Éternel dit à Josué:

And it came to pass, when all the people had completely crossed over the Jordan, that the LORD spoke to Joshua, saying:

"Tomad del pueblo doce hombres, uno por cada tribu,

Prenez douze hommes parmi le peuple, un homme de chaque tribu.

"Take for yourselves twelve men from the people, one man from every tribe,

Donnez-leur cet ordre: Enlevez d'ici, du milieu du Jourdain, de la place où les sacrificateurs se sont arrêtés de pied ferme, douze pierres, que vous emporterez avec vous, et que vous déposerez dans le lieu où vous passerez cette nuit.

"and command them, saying, 'Take for yourselves twelve stones from here, out of the midst of the Jordan, from the place where the priests' feet stood firm. You shall carry them over with you and leave them in the lodging place where you lodge tonight.' "

Then Joshua called the twelve men whom he had appointed from the children of Israel, one man from every tribe;

"Then you shall answer them that the waters of the Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of the LORD; when it crossed over the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan were cut off. And these stones shall be for a memorial to the children of Israel forever."

And the children of Israel did so, just as Joshua commanded, and took up twelve stones from the midst of the Jordan, as the LORD had spoken to Joshua, according to the number of the tribes of the children of Israel, and carried them over with them to the place where they lodged, and laid them down there.

Then Joshua set up twelve stones in the midst of the Jordan, in the place where the feet of the priests who bore the ark of the covenant stood; and they are there to this day.

So the priests who bore the ark stood in the midst of the Jordan until everything was finished that the LORD had commanded Joshua to speak to the people, according to all that Moses had commanded Joshua; and the people hurried and crossed over.

Then it came to pass, when all the people had completely crossed over, that the ark of the LORD and the priests crossed over in the presence of the people.

About forty thousand prepared for war crossed over before the LORD for battle, to the plains of Jericho.

Egun hartan, Jaunak goratu egin zuen Josue israeldar guztien aurrean eta begirune izan zioten denek, lehen Moisesi bizitza osoan begirune izana zioten bezala.

En aquel día Jehová engrandeció a Josué a los ojos de todo Israel. Y lo temieron como habían temido a Moisés durante toda su vida.

En ce jour -là, l'Éternel éleva Josué aux yeux de tout Israël; et ils le craignirent, comme ils avaient craint Moïse, tous les jours de sa vie.

On that day the LORD exalted Joshua in the sight of all Israel; and they feared him, as they had feared Moses, all the days of his life.

Then the LORD spoke to Joshua, saying,
