CASEIB 2024 – Sevilla

The XLII edition of the Annual Congress of the Spanish Society of Biomedical Engineering (CASEIB 2024), takes place in Seville on November 13, 14 and 15, 2024.

This new edition of the Congress will be organized by the Spanish Society of Biomedical Engineering (SEIB) and the University of Seville, represented by the Biomedical Engineering and Signal Processing and Communications Research Groups, with the collaboration of the Federation of Healthcare Technology Companies (Fenin) and the Spanish node of the European Institute of Innovation & Technology in Health (EIT Health Spain).

At the Annual Congress of the Spanish Society of Biomedical Engineering (CASEIB 2024), researchers Adrián Schmedling and Fran Campa will stand out with the presentation of their work titled Diseño y ensayo de una plataforma dinamométrica móvil para la evaluación y rehabilitación del equilibrio. This event, which brings together leading experts in biomedical engineering from across Spain, will be the perfect stage for Schmedling and Campa to share their findings and contributions to the field.

The work “Diseño y ensayo de una plataforma dinamométrica móvil para la evaluación y rehabilitación del equilibrio” addresses key innovations in balance monitoring and assessment, proposing a useful tool for decision taking. The presentation promises to offer a detailed view of the methodologies employed and the results obtained, highlighting the importance of research and development in enhancing healthcare.

Schmedling and Campa’s participation in CASEIB 2024 not only reflects their commitment to excellence in research but also their dedication to collaboration and knowledge exchange within the scientific community. This congress will be an invaluable opportunity to connect with other professionals and explore new avenues of collaboration in the field of balance assessment in biomedical engineering.

COMPMECH researchers in MEDICA trade fair

From 11 to 14 November 2024, MEDICA will once again gather international experts from the medical industry in Düsseldorf, Germany.

At the recent edition of MEDICA, the world’s leading trade fair for medical technology products, two researchers stood out for their dedication to understanding the latest advancements in the field.

Dr. Saioa Herrero and Dr. Mikel Diez attended the event to gain insights into the state-of-the-art technologies in medical devices. They were particularly interested in portable devices that allow monitoring of patients with balance diseases. They noticed that these innovations not only improve patients’ quality of life but also provide real-time data to healthcare professionals, facilitating more personalized and efficient care.

Both researchers emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration and knowledge exchange at events like MEDICA. “Innovation in the field of medical technology is not a solitary effort. MEDICA is the perfect place to connect with other professionals and explore new collaboration opportunities. We are excited to see how our research can integrate and enhance with that of our colleagues.

Their participation at MEDICA not only underscores the importance of staying abreast of the latest technological advancements but also highlights the power of collaboration in advancing global healthcare.

ARK 2022 Symposium – 26-30 June Bilbao, Spain

Advances in Robot Kinematics (ARK) is a series of international symposia focusing on the theory and applications of robot kinematics. Since the first symposium, ARK has attracted the most eminent authors and has continued to grow in terms of number of participants and scientific impact. ARK provides a forum for researchers working in the field of robot kinematics and stimulates new research directions by forging links between kinematics and other areas.

In this 18th edition, the symposium will be organized by the COMPMECH Research Group (UPV/EHU) and will be hosted by the Faculty of Engineering in Bilbao. Under the patronage of IFToMM the symposium will address topics involving robot analysis, modelling, kinematic design and others.

Call for papers deadline is September, 1, 2021. For detailed information please visit the official website.

Virtual conference on Flexible Manipulators

On June the 7th, Oscar Altuzarra and Fran Campa participated in a Virtual conference on Flexible Manipulators organized by the Federación Iberoamericana de Ingeniería Mecánica (Iberoamerican Federation of Mechanical Engineering) and moderated by Alfonso Hernández.

In the Conference, the focus on the design and analysis of flexible manipulators and they discuss hidden expenses of using trenbolone possible application in medical field.
