Computational mechanics

computational_mechanicsCompMech group works on design methodologies, dimensional synthesis, solving the position problems for motion simulation, velocities and accelerations computation, detection of singular positions, motion pattern of the platform, workspaces for every assembly mode and stiffness and frequency mapping in the workspace. In particular a deeper research is done in lower mobility manipulators (less than six degrees of freedom) with uncoupled freedoms and with mixed freedoms. Analysis, synthesis and design of these manipulators are complex tasks which require the development of new theoretical approaches, the use of specific mathematical tools and the implementation of a software tool for computational kinematics.
