APPROVED LAND PLANNING DIRECTIVES IN THE BASQUE COUNTRY AUTONOMOUS REGION
On Tuesday 24 September, the official gazette of the Basque Country (BOPV) published decree 128/2019, of 30 July, which definitively approves the land planning directives of the Autonomous Region of the Basque Country. These directives constitute the reference framework for drafting other land and urban planning documents, as they set out the fundamental criteria for action on land planning.
Article 4 of the decree sets out the directives relating to green infrastructure and ecosystem services. These are among the issues that the Chair researches and promotes by means of the Euskadi Ecosystem Services Evaluation. As part of the project, we have participated in the process of reviewing this document and made the appropriate contributions.
In addition, at the latest meeting of the Green Infrastructure and Land Planning Commission, it was agreed to create ecosystem services data sheets mapped to Euskadi, which are attached as Annexe I in the land planning directives preliminary document.
