INFOGRAPHICS OF THE 17 SDGs OF THE 2030 AGENDA
The UNESCO Chair has collaborated with BBK-Behatokia and UNESCO Etxea in the development of infographics for the 17 SDGs of the 2030 Agenda and how they can be achieved in Bizkaia. Specifically, the Chair has provided the data required for the development of the infographic pertaining to SDG 15: Life on Land.
Of the data that appear in the infographic, the following are particularly worth highlighting:
.- Upon assessing the land ecosystems in Bizkaia, we found that: 71% is woodland, 19% agricultural land and 9% urban spaces.
.- Although they represent 80% of all potential vegetation in Bizkaia, natural forests (oak and beech) only occupy 13% of the province, while 46% of the surface area is occupied by plantations of exotic species (mainly pine and eucalyptus).
.- 89% of woodland areas in Bizkaia are not protected.
