2nd PERMANENT FORUM ON THE URDAIBAI BIOSPHERE RESERVE´S INCLUSION IN THE EUROPEAN CHARTER FOR SUSTAINABLE TOURISM (ECST)
Busturia hosted the meeting of the 2nd Permanent Forum on the Urdabai Biosphere Reserve’s inclusion in the European Charter for Sustainable Tourism (ECST).
Through the meetings, the participants – who included representatives of the UNESCO Chair – evaluated the potential and appeal of the tourist products identified in the Diagnosis, for their inclusion in the Charter.
They also analysed the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats that relate to aspects such as the mechanisms needed to ensure Urdabai’s territorial and tourist cohesion to secure benefits for the local community’s economy, as well as providing training and education in promoting tourism and systematising the way tourist activity and its impacts are monitored.
