SYMPOSIA: ‘BEYOND DEVELOPMENT: THEORIES, PERSPECTIVES AND EXPERIENCES TO OPEN NEW PATHS’
On 23 January and 27 February 2020, from 9.00 to 19.00, we participated in the symposia ‘Beyond Development: theories, approaches and perspectives to open new paths’ organised by the Hegoa Foundation and the University of the Basque Country.
In their keynote addresses and round table debates, the conferences brought together stakeholders from academia, public institutions, ONGDs and social movements and organisations with the aim of analysing theories, approaches and critical experiences linked to different dimensions of sustainability. During the course of the conferences, participants had the opportunity to discuss the articulation of alternative sustainability paradigms and to explore in detail key proposals for constructing alternatives to development which adopt a different approach to dealing with the political, economic, environmental and social problems that influence the various dimensions of sustainability processes.
