Research Areas

Rosalia Dacosta-Aguayo is a Psychologist with expertise in the field of Neuropsychology. She is actually conducting a PhD on Biomedicine between the University of the Barcelona, (Department of Psychiatry and Clinical Psychobiology; Professor Maria Mataró), and the University of the Basque Country, UPV/EHU (Group of Computational Intelligence, Dept. CCIA; Professor Manuel Graña). Her main focus of research is the mechanisms of recovery and brain plasticity in stroke survivors with special interest on early surrogate biomarkers, the development of new therapeutic strategies for stroke patients, brain and behavior relationships using neuroimaging techniques, as well as support therapies for relatives of patients with dementia. She completed an internship of two years as a Clinical Neuropsychologist in the Trueta University Hospital and in the Mar Hospital with Dr. Peña-Casanova (Master’s Degree on Behavioral Neurology and Clinical Neuropsychology). She completed one year of practices with stroke survivors in the Germans Trias I Pujol University Hospital with Dr. Antoni Dávalos (Master’s Degree on Neurosciences).
