M.S. degree in informatics (1990), Master in Computer Science and Technology (1991), and Ph.D. in computer science (2000) from the UPV/EHU. Extraordinary Award for the Ph.D. Dissertation in UPV/EHU in 2002.

Grant holder/researcher (1992-1995), Substitute Assistant Professor (1993), Bilingual Assistant Professor (1995-2002), Bilingual temporary Associate Professor (2002-2003), and Bilingual Associate Professor since 2003. He has given lectures in several graduate and postgraduate studies in UPV/EHU and the Universities of Deusto, Lleida, Oviedo and Cienfuegos (Cuba). He launched and was the first Academic Director of the official Master’s Program on Assistive Technology for Independent Living given in UPV/EHU (2008-2013).

Member of the ADIAN Research Group, Egokituz section since 1991. His research interests include Human-Computer Interaction, Accessibility and Computing Education. Researcher in several research projects and contracts, and main researcher in some of them.

Supervisor of several PhD (one international), MsC (one received the I. Izaskun Heras Prado prize in UPV/EHU in 2016) and BsC disertations.

He has recognized three research (six-year bonus) and five teaching (five-year bonus) bonus, and three positive evaluations in DOCENTIAZ programme in 2009, 2015 and 2020.

He got accredited for Full Professor in Unibasq in 2017, as well as recognized his excellence in regional supplements in 2018.
