Jalel Labidi, Chemical Engineer (Ecole Nationale d'Ingenieurs de Gabes, Tunisia) and PhD in Chemical Engineering from the Institut Politechnique de Lorraine (France). He has developed his research career in several centers: Ecole Polytechnique in Montreal (Canada), CanmetEnergy (Canada), CNRS (France), University of Girona and finally the University of the Basque Country. He is currently a permanent researcher in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Environment of the University of the Basque Country. He is responsible of the Research Group Biorefinery Processes (BioRP) (www.ehu.eus/biorp). He has published more than 230 articles in international journals and three patents. He has directed 18 PhD thesis as well as several Master and DEA projects. He is currently the director of the Master program on Renewable Materials Engineering. He is associate editor of two international journals: Industrial Crops and Product (Elsevier), Frontiers in Energy Research: Bioenergy and Biofuel (Frontiers) and member of the editorial board of several journals: Brazilian Journal of Wood Science, Molecules (MDPI) and Polymers (MDPI). His research is focused on the development, optimization and integration of biomass biorefinery processes. He has directed and participated in several national and international projects.
