Bachelor of Science (Chemistry) from the University of Valladolid (1991) and PhD from the UPV/EHU (1998). She has completed a 2-year postdoctoral stay at the Department of Chemistry in Davis, University of California (USA). Since 2012 she is a Full Professor of Organic Chemistry at the UPV/EHU and since 2017 she is also the Vice Dean of Quality and Innovation of the Faculty of Pharmacy. She teaches in the Pharmacy and Human Nutrition and Dietetics degrees and also in the Interuniversity Master in Synthetic and Industrial Chemistry.
She participated in 20 research projects, is co-author of 47 scientific articles and 3 book chapters and has about 55 contributions in national and international conferences. From her research she has been recognized by the CNEAI with 3 sexenios. Among her lines of research: Synthesis of biologically active heterocyclic compounds.
