MethodologyToggle Navigation

Time distribution of the subject is the same for all the engineering degrees that coexist: Double Degree in Mechanical Engineering and Business Management and Administration, Double Degree in Mechanical Engineering + Industrial Electronics and Automation Engineering, Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Electronics and Automation Engineering and Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Chemical Engineering.

The course includes 2 fundamental parts:

1. Automatisms

It will be dedicated 2 hours of theory per week for 7 weeks, and 2 hours of practice per week for 10 weeks.

2. Automatic control

It will be dedicated 2 hours of theory per week for 8 weeks, and 2 hours of practice per week for 5 weeks.

Assessment systemsToggle Navigation

The practices are mandatory and in those cases that do not do them must take a practice exam upon request, before the final examination.

If at least 50% of the internships are not performed, or if there is no request for written exam of the practices, the student will be considered as not presented in the subject, as well as if having attended to more than 50%, he/she submits a written resignation to the professor, 10 days before the examination.

The final exam will take place in May. It will consist of two parts one on Automatisms and the other on Control. Each part will be scored out of 10, being necessary to obtain a minimum of 3.5 in each part in order to be eligible for the qualification of the laboratory practices.

The final grade will be:

30% obtained in the Automatisms part (up to 3 points) and 20% obtained in the Automatisms practices, where the competence of the group work will be evaluated (up to 2 points). 30% obtained in the Control part and 10% obtained in the Control practices, where the competence of the problem solving will be evaluated (up to 1 point) and 10% obtained in knowledge evaluations through tests or development of the proposed theory (up to 1 point).

That is, it will be calculated according to the following mathematical operation:

(Note in Automatisms part of the exam) X 0.3 + (Note of the Automatisms laboratory practices) X 0.2 + (Note in the Control part of the exam) X 0.3 + (Note of Control laboratory practices) X 0.1 y (Note of the tests of knowledge obtained in Control) X 0.1

If a 3.5 is not obtained in each part of the exam, the subject will be failed and the final grade will be the sum of those obtained in the exams, divided by two and multiplied by 0.6, without being able to add the scores of the practices.
