Biography
María del Mar Cammarata graduated on Chemistry at Facultad de Ciencias Exactas y Naturales, Universidad de Buenos Aires in 2019. In the same year, she received a cofinanced fellowship from CONICET (Argentina)—Ampacet South America S.R.L to do her PhD, which she completed in 2024. Her thesis focused on studying polyethylene surface modification by additives, comprising organic synthesis, physical chemistry, and computational simulations of molecular dynamics. Currently, she works as a postdoctoral researcher at Materials + Technologies Group (GMT) within the Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering at UPV/EHU.
Research
Currently, her research activity focuses on the synthesis of polymers, primarily non-isocyanate polyurethanes (NIPUs), intended for the fabrication of nanofiber platforms using electrospinning. These platforms exhibit a surface potential that allows them to be functionalized with molecules or nanoentities of interest through click chemistry reactions.
