Maite received her B.Eng. degree in Chemical Engineering (2011) and M.Sc. degree in New Materials (2012) from the University of the Basque Country. She completed her PhD in Materials Science and Technology at the Basque Center for Materials, Applications and Nanostructures (BCMateriales) in 2017.
During her doctoral thesis, entitled “Magnetic vortex nanodiscs for cancer cell destruction”, Maite carried out a three-months stay in the Department of Physics at the University of Cambridge (UK). After her PhD, Maite joined the group of Nanoelectronics and Nanostructures at the University of California Berkeley to investigate new multiferroic materials for the development of energy-efficient electric devices. Maite returned to the University of the Basque Country as a Postdoctoral Fellow in 2020.
Her current research interests are focused on the development of addressable magnetic nanosystems for biomedical applications and the investigation of magnetic materials for green technology.
