GASTRONOMY AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT CONFERENCE
On Friday June 15th the Basque Know How Foundation (BKHF) is holding a conference on Gastronomy and Sustainable Development in the Euskalduna Palace in Bilbao.
This gathering of national and international professionals will try to create a community of knowledge as well as addressing measures for helping mitigate the increasingly-evident environmental challenges which directly affect our gastronomy. Delegates and speakers will be encouraged to interact with one another during this academic conference.
Miren Onaindia, Coordinator of the UNESCO Chair, has been invited to give the opening talk on WHY GASTRONOMY AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT?, together with Lorea Uribarri, Director of the Basque Know How Foundation, and Eneko Atxa.
The conference will include contributions from the chefs Diego Prado, Rodolfo Guzmán and Joan Roca, as well as Andrew Stephen (Sustainable Restaurant Association, UK), Nick Jeffries (Ellen MacArthur Foundation), Leire Baraño (NEIKER), Amaia Agirre (Ausolan) and Héctor Sánchez (Biscay Hospitality Association).
