The anniversary conference of the UNESCO/UNITWIN Chairs programme took place on October 31st in Paris as part of the 39th UNESCO General Conference (October 30th to November 14th 2017).

The event looked back at the achievements of the UNITWIN programme over the last 25 years and reflected on the contribution of the UNESCO Chairs and UNITWIN Networks to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

The UNESCO Chair on Sustainable Development and Environmental Education from the University of the Basque Country took part in the event, represented by Jasone Unzueta and via the presentation of a poster which was shown on screen during the conference.

The conference was attended (amongst others) by Olga Vasilieva, Russian Minister for Education and Science, Josep M. Vilalta, Director of the UNITWIN-GUNI network, and David Atchoarena, Director of UNESCO’s policy and learning systems division.
